I would like to see a full-mech skin, something like an elite skin, but with the style of the other cosmetic Chassis parts already in game.

Seriously devs. I want to play in game about mech. This thing is not a mech. It is unshaped plasma-ball with legs. Or an alien form of life from Jupiter. Idk what else. I even can't imagine Who in your team in right mind can think than this is good idea, put this in mecha-shooter.
And I'm sure than this is not thing which mecha fans want to see when they think about military mech.
I have better idea for ya. Just start create focking hats. I'm not joke, even stupid hats on mech have more logic than This. Maybe it help you earn some $.
If my config can't disable this sheet camo, I'm out.
Edit: also, this camo/part have a Serious gameplay drawback. If you put all this part on a-class, it will be really hard to understand what is the mech stand in front of you. I'm not sure if I can see mech icon while this monster was shining in my face. It is not informative totally, I think.

Someone worked on something, some shader stuff maybe and they made this effect by accident and it was like hey art director/lead let us use this it's bling and shiny! Cheap to make! No performance hit!

Even at my current shitty workplace they redo months of work if it's not right. If you're not serious about it the user will care even less.
It seems there's no vision. It's like you people walk in the dark.
Or marketing people just gave out order to make something shinny..

if Devs give community mechs "texture map", well, you know, thing like this
community can actually made a tonnes camo just redrawed from mechs elite skin. all of we need creativity, some modern and shiny cyberpunk, some HA?KE?, and some babaji love.
yes, it was not super good or unique, bit i swear it will be better than "transparent etheric body" (just look at this again, it is transparent! mech maded from metal... is TRANSPARENT! ok, if this metal cursed by virus, and it is really have transparent properties, why i don't see pilot inside? or mech mechanismus?)
We can just some "bold ideas" as a moder cyberpunk like ascention did it with elite camo. Many people in hawken actually play in game "Who craft a more ugly camo on raider", so take this ideas to implement.
all what we need:
- bright colors (orange+white, like current ascension design use)
- perhaps even incongruous, flashy colors (pink+light green, blue, yellow, red, violet)
- using decales on mechs (like bunny icon on Hon, like i use bear icon on my G2-brawler, there is many - snail, funny octopus, kitty, doge, etc)
- using some pin up pattern, and "dead mech counter" where u can see how much mechs this pilot destroy"
- random russian inverted letters or numbers, or both like "09", "?R-14", "?N-5K" etc.
- just continue ascension design style and colors
just for inspirations/examples, to understand some colors shenmue how i see this. And i think it will be "so bad and ugly". Devs, just use it, it free idea, especially, when you have less time, or money, or people. it is look not bad, it can be done with simple instruments. even if you don't have designer, all of you need desired and put some effort in work. or ask community about your work, i don't know, like Voting, or something else way...

I'd have to disagree, if they use a system of buying keys to unlock the crates and get a random item from in the crate. Just recently, Rocket League introduced Loot Crates and the same system and it has really, really pissed people off... and made a freaking mess of their forums at the same time, what with 2 out of 3 posts now being about wanting to trade with people or being furious that the system is basically gambling - people just want a way to simply buy the cosmetics they want.
But, if it was actually just a "salvage" where you got an actual part for something like sticking in one server for 3 or more matches, etc., then I'm super cool with it.
So Rocket League in particular fuzzy bunnyed this up. So? Randomized loot drops feature in almost every successful f2p game in some form or another. I don't think that's a coincidence. Random loot has an addictive quality, the key however is having enough content.
In any case, I'm proposing a system that encourages players to stay in the same lobby for multiple matches (another thing that most successful f2p games encourage) and introduces random loot for the "just one more game" factor. Player retention is more important than anything else right now.

yes, it is free (but you cant buy it from magazine), and it is just repainted elite skin which i draw in photoshop by using 3 instruments, brush, opasity and smooth lighting.
but I'll be damned if it is worse than the "Lighting-shield camouflage" from Hyginos PS4 screenshoot.
actually, professional designer (huh, even school-boy mod maker can do this), can easily made a hundreds camos like this. and better than this, i just do this for example and spent 30 minutes.

Having a chinese noodle bucket in the cockpit is fun, having a tentacle camo is not.
I'd rather have pin-up camo. it may not be politicaly correct, but it's more realistic and fits better with the badass mercenary atmosphere.

isn't it a really "mercenary mech" which just colored maybe as a personal camo of some mercenary band, with some decals?
i feel, that it is 90% ascention design style, even if my work pretty cheapy, but i trying to do it fast, cuz don't have a much time.

I am happy to report that it is, fortunately, NOT the first image returned by Google image search. I overlaid it in Photoshop and they don't match. It's close, but not exact.
I am NOT happy to report that if you search for "octopus tentacle" it's literally the third image. I overlaid it in Photoshop; they're an exact match. (here)
Hey, nothing wrong with using a stock photo, but using a stock photo for an icon in Hawken is straight-up lazy. You guys could have at least tried to make it match the look of the rest of the game somehow... throw a Photoshop paint effect filter on it at least or something for crying out loud.
Regarding that abomination of a glowing skin: what the fnck? When I first read about it, the first thought in my mind was, in all seriousness, "why?" Was there something in the lore that I missed where there was a glowing ghost mech? Seriously, it looks like someone played with some shaders in UE, thought it looked cool, and someone else said "approved! It's in." The last time I read about that happening we got Bunker. It's like something I made back when I was playing around with skins for UT2004... and I decided not to release it because it looked bad and didn't match the rest of the game's style.

A few days ago we launched the first content update for the consoles. You will see better frame-rate, some quality of life improvements, the beginnings of controller vibration, and some good bug fixes. The focus for this update was to consolidate the crazy-hectic changes that were flying around until the final builds for launch. We made some improvements that should make it easier to navigate the game as a result of these changes.
One great fix we did was a conversion of how the server handles threading, and the efficiency of those threads that communicate with the back-end services. We redid some legacy code that would on rare occasions suck up tons of CPU on the host, instantly hosing the process in question. It was one of those things that comes up so rarely that it wasn�t until we had hundreds of game server hosts that we really had a chance to see what the problem was.
On the PC side of things, we have consolidated hosting to even better hardware and networking infrastructure, so you should start to notice smoother game play compared to before. Please give us feedback on hosting so we may make adjustments to the PC servers as needed.
In terms of what this latest content update contains, we wanted to push the boundaries on what we thought mechs in the Hawken Universe might look like. We have an incoming �Energy� mech chassis skin that makes your mech look like a combination of being cloaked and shielded. We took the bold route on this one, and we want to know what you think. We�ve also got some shark and kraken mech chassis skins added in.
What�s up for the next content update? We�ve got loads of new cockpit decorations, more holo taunts, some new Halloween stuff, and something really special; We�re working on making it so you can swap out your weapons, items, and internals. Tell us what you think � do you want *all* the weapons, or do you think it should only be a selection of weapons? This is a direct response to player feedback regarding the �locked internals and items� system we tried out in Hawken on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We found that the �unique pre-fitted mech� system didn�t really work out that well in a game that we (and hopefully you think!) should be about customizing your mech. After all, what is a mech game without customization? We�re curious what you think, what the restrictions should be, and we would appreciate any feedback as a reply to this post J
Also for the next content update, we�ll have some frame rate and performance improvements � stupid-high frame rate is calling our name, especially with the refreshed console hardware and those re-freaking-diculous new video cards that came out recently.

Another screenshot from Hocisern shows that the "shark" skin doesn't even have shark teeth on it, or even sharks. It is literally just blue.
one guy from russian community who play on consoles say those camos just have shark and squid stickers. not sure 100% because he don't give screen. but maybe it visible not on all mechs bodies?
