It's time we started up a tier list to see what mech is really the master of HAWKEN.
And so I took that upon myself. I have a Google Form set up, as well as a image-based format for illustrating the results list.
The voting deadline is February 29, 2016.
You should be ranking mechs 1-5 where 1 is the best, 5 is the worst and this should be in terms of all situations including impromptu 1v1s (Test Arena does not count) and team-fights throughout all game modes. I'd also like to ask that you not vote more than once and that you take your vote seriously.
Crash and Burn!

Questions and Answers:
Q: But... why?
A: Because it's valuable to see what people think about balance throughout this game.
Q: No really, why?
A: Because I like Smash bros too much
Q: How will you sort results?
A: After the February 29th deadline, I will collect results and average all voted values for each mech. Hopefully this will fit to a bell curve, and I'll define cutoff points where they are most apparent.
Q: When will we get results back?
A: After the deadline, it'll take me a couple days. I will release results before or on the 5th of March.
Q: Will the "What's your favorite mech?" results affect the list?
A: Not at all, but I will release results for that along with the tier list, in the form of an ordered list.
Q: What does MMR make for?
A: Didn't enjoy the game.
The Results have finally arrived!
Sorry for taking a while on the list, I was slammed with a couple tests, and I'm a lazy kid who shirks responsibilities.
Anywho, I'd like to thank everyone who voted, even though I'm now silently judging you all for having no idea what half these mechs are. It was awesome to get to see the communities impressions on every mech and it's capabilities, as well as how much work the cult of the battleturkey has set out for itself.
Without further ado, the results for the February 2016 Hawken Community Tier List:

THE INFILTRATOR
Winning with an astounding 17 votes, he took the trophy by a landslide, with the Raider in second with only 8 votes.
Due to lack of updates, and a pretty stagnant meta, I won't be doing these every month, but upon decidable changes I'll run another vote. Thanks again for participating!

For when you need a bit more gay in your mech game
Are we judging the mechs using their best weapons only or are we supposed to assign ratings based on average performance with all three primaries? And is this ranking how good mechs are in pubs against typical players or in competitive Hawken where people can hit A-Classes reliably?
It'd be interesting if you collected MMR to see how it correlates with tier choices, but I don't know if you want to add another question at this point.

make sense, i give 5 for heat rocketeer while 2 for missle, and 1 for EOC
Similarly, hellfires are actually borderline OP at low tiers
It's the same deal as playing a character in a fighting game with a spammable good move. When you're a fuzzy bunny playing with your fuzzy bunny friends, everyone will call it broken and OP. However, at the competitive level, that character may be bottom tier and easily beatable. Of course, a good player can still play a bad character well.
I understand this is a community tier list, so we'll get mixed responses, but tier lists are usually in reference to the competitive scene of a game, no? I'd be interested to see the responses of TPG players halfway through the next season.
I think any future tier list should have the mechs broken down by weapon. Which primary is selected can drastically effect the mechs ability to contribute to a team.
can't wait to see the results.

I feel like instead of 1-5 rating this should have a sliding scale of Seriously Under Powered, Slightly Under Powered, Balanced, Slightly Over Powered, Over Powered. Feels like that would give a better understanding of how people feel about mechs and their current position in the game. Am I voting to be the best because it I think it is too good or am I voting it the best because I think that's where it should be in that Goldilocks zone?
@KejiGoto : I get your point but one of the question is "what is the appropriate reference" ? for example do you take into account items/internal TPG restriction or not ? To be more precise a Brawler benefit more from orblording meta, and a flak scout benefit more from the scanner.
IMHO, and taking into account TPG restriction, the assault, the vulcan grenadier and PPA incinerator are top tier Mech, the worst being the EOC rocketeer.
In lower level pub the flak scout is the most roflstomp mech.
Edit : a note to myself : thank you captain obvious.

So you are saying 1 is the most powerful and intimidating I'm assuming... Because THE ALMIGHTY EOC IS THE GREATEST WEAPON IN ALL OF WORLD OF WARCRAFT !!!
any mech played well is a good mech. Ive seen players in G2 raiders destroying the other team, and ive seen assaults that couldnt hit the broad side of a barn.

This is like a Chevy vs Ford poll.
Some mechs are better when played at the same level though.
Thanks for bringing these up here! Some good information. For clarity, I'm looking more specifically for a tier list as it would be seen in a fighting game, not for preference. Like, I absolutely hate Cloud, but he's S tier no matter what I say.

For when you need a bit more gay in your mech game
all this stuff has been polled on a thousand times.
Shame on your Rukinom for even attempting to make a poll about mechs! There have been vaguely similar threads on old forums we can no longer post on. Better just search those and wonder what it would be like to have a community voted tier list.
Interested in the list still. Maybe we could get some more data next TPG season on mech/weapon/internal choices to make a competitive play tier list to compare the voted version to.

Scout... in the hands of a skilled player who played on a consistent basis (like I used to do) will easily be the pinnacle mech in Hawken in terms of team impact or 1v1 skill.
Someone who can anticipate other players movements and position themselves flawlessly will get the best bang for the buck in a mech that's fast and has high burst, and some of the best players I know in this game all main scout for a competitive reason - they fuzzy bunny fuzzy bunny up
