While we're at can we get rid of the worthless wordfilter entirely?

Couldn't you instead implement an auto-report function that reports posts that contain words that might hurt others' "feelings" and then take actions against repeat offenders? I think that would be better rather than falsifying messages!

 

Also, why do you think deleting messages is a good idea, instead of, for example, adding to the bottom of the offending post something like "MOD EDIT: User was warned/banned/etc. for this post". Deleting spam is fine by me, though.

 

"Moral highground" does not exist. Morals are just opinions. I cannot see how one set of morals can be inherently better than the other. Do you think your morals are inherently better because theyre YOUR morals? I don't understand you other humans.

 

And how are "humans rights" not a political issue? "Rights" is just a shorthand term for "privileges granted by those more powerful/influential than you".

The reason that people speak up is because of the need to fight for their human rights.  Please watch this video and understand that the reason you feel this way is most likely because of privilege.

 

 

You can use the word "gay" rather than the bigoted term "f?gs".  Or continue saying "f?gs" and make yourself look bad.  That's fine by me.

 

I for one am glad that game companies are saying "YES WE SUPPORT HUMAN RIGHTS".

it's a public forum my ill informed friend...it's meaning was to suggest that your idea of junking the word filter was foolish and a means to promote people (maybe such as yourself) to have free rain in posting whatever rude and insulting words or phrases you feel like and then leave it up to the devs to moderate what is acceptable or not.

 

They are short staffed as it is and have many other much more important things to work on other than policing a small bunch of adolescent gamers and adults that feel the need to be foul mouthed on the forums.

 

And as for your views on morals / politics...well it's your opinion, but....sigh

I maintain that introducing forum badges over political opinions is a poor move, regardless of cause.

QFT and I am surprised and disappointed that my posts calling for restraint among the community were deleted. I didn't throw the first punch, and quite honestly never was an aggressor. I'm quite disappointed. Reloaded was able to arouse more political drama on the forums in less than a day than an entire community did in the past few years.

I disagree with the "bigoted fuzzy bunny" on basis of it not being sufficiently objective, but other than that i think i agree with your post.

Looking at people discussing a freaking badge that got no effect on the game what so ever is just plain boring to read through for many. An easy solution will just to be make certain badges switchable. There, done with discussion.

That would definitely be valid if that's what the creator intended, but I'm pretty sure the image is saying something along the lines of "why do you care about [the insignificant issue of] gay marriage when people are homeless and starving." It's an extremely common argument people make against things like this and especially feminist issues.

according to wikipedia, they're botanically berries.

*Edit* Before someone goes ZOMGZ SO RACIST (is Russian even a race?), it's important to note that you're more likely to find certain opinions in certain countries/regions.  You're more likely to find anti-homosexual views in the Southern United States and Russia than in Canada, for instance.
